U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has appointed Stuart Timerman to serve as director of the Defense Spectrum Organization at the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the Pentagon announced Nov. 2.rnThe Defense Spectrum Organization is responsible for managing the use of electromagnetic spectrum for the Pentagon's wireless capabilities, including satellite communications, radar and navigation systems. Timerman previously served as the director of the Army's spectrum management office.
