Northrop Grumman Releases Upgrade to ISR System

Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems released the latest up-grade to its open source software for working with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) data, the Baltimore-based company announced May 3. The upgrade, dubbed 6.1 Common Software Baseline, will improve U.S. Defense Department systems that order, collect, process and disseminate data such as satellite imagery, Northrop Grumman said. Nearly 50 ISR systems operated by the U.S. government use the software, the company said. Northrop Grumman's architecture uses both commercial- and government-developed hardware and software, and the next upgrade is scheduled to be released this summer.
