Boeing Begins U.S. Production of Arrow 2 Interceptor Components

Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) and Chicago-based Boeing Co. have begun U. S.-based production of the Arrow 2 ballistic missile interceptor, with initial deliveries to Israel planned by the end of this year. Under complex agreements involving the U.S. and Israeli governments and the two industrial partners, nearly 50 percent of Arrow components and major subsystems will be produced in the United States and then shipped to Israel for final assembly. "We've passed a major milestone with actualization of the first production contract between IAI and Boeing, and we expect the first missiles to arrive here for final assembly by the end of the year," said Arieh Herzog, director of the Israel Missile Defense Organization.
