Gilat Satellite Will Provide 2.500 VSATs to SingTel Optus

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., Petah Tikva, Israel, will supply SingTel Optus with 2,500 very small aperture terminals (VSATs) and other hardware to expand the company's service, Gilat announced Feb. 16. SingTel Optus will use the equipment to expand its broadband network in rural areas in Australia and New Zealand, where it provides distance learning services to rural towns and isolated homes.
