Contracts for Soyuz Pad at Kourou Expected in March

Russian and European space agency officials expect to sign contracts in March to distribute work to build a launch pad for Russia's Soyuz rocket at Europe's Guiana Space Center here. A first launch is scheduled for December 2006. A high-level delegation of Russian and European government officials visited the future launch site Feb. 26 and were able to take measure of the 32-month task that lies before them.
