European-US. Satellite Navigation Accord Expected in March

A preliminary U.S.-European agreement on satellite navigation issues is expected to be signed in March, with U.S. and European heads of state to be presented with a final document as early as June, according to the lead negotiators on both sides. Once the executive branches of the 25 governments of the European Union and the United States sign the document, it will be adhered to by the two sides. But a formal ratification by each individual European Union member state ― which in some cases will mean months of parliamentary debate ― will be necessary before the agreement takes legal effect.
