NASA and South Korea's Ministry of Education, Science and Technology agreed Oct. 30 to look for opportunities to cooperate on civil space and aeronautics activities. According to NASA, Michael O' Brien, the U.S. space agency's assistant administrator for external relations, and the South Korean ministry's director-general for big science, Munki Lee, signed the joint statement of intent in Seoul. The joint statement commits the two agencies to conduct discussions aimed at identifying new cooperative activities related to space exploration, Earth science, planetary science, human space flight and aeronautics research. A joint report on potential collaborative efforts is expected by July, NASA said.
