U.S. Air Force Academy Planning To Test Space Solar Power Concepts

While space-based solar power has been talked about for decades, the activity has been largely academic. All that is about to change as researchers at the U.S. Air Force Academy begin their plans to launch a project called "One Lightbulb." In December, the academy's Eisenhower Center for Space and Defense Studies will begin the process of building two small satellites to test the concept of generating solar power from space.
