Commercial spaceports and the 'Valley Effect'

As of today, there are 10 or so active or prospective launch sites in the United States licensed as spaceports. At least two additional licenses are pending for spaceports in Camden County, Georgia and metro Denver. A few communities have bet big that spaceports will bring economic development to their regions. Midland, Texas, and the state of New Mexico have been particularly aggressive with economic incentives and public use of funds for infrastructure.
