The investigation, started in [1], of evolution of orbits with eccentricities of the order of the Earth's oblateness with the use of the averaging method developed by V.M. Volosov[2] is continued. With a partially modified system of variables, the second approximation is obtained both for slow variables characterizing the evo- lution of the orbit and for the fast variable describing the velocity of motion along the orbit. The latter provides much better accuracy of determination of the satellite position on orbit than the approximation in [1]. The third approximations for two terms of the Jacobi integral are found. formulas of the second approximation for the slow variables are consistent with those derived in [1].
