More than 18 months of planning and preparation coming down to several long days (and nights), which in turn culminates in a three-hour show. But what a show! The opening ceremonies for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta provided a global stage to show off some of the best talent and equipment in the world of sound design. By the time the great Muhammad Ali took the giant torch to the top of the Olympic Stadium signifying the official opening of the games, the bulk of the work had been done.
