Why does the Army have chefs if we don't use them? The introduction of Pay As You Dine has seen the arrival of contractors in most garrisons and now the same is happening in Afghanistan.rnI served on Op Herrick 11 and when I arrived in theatre in October 2009 both cookhouses at Camp Bastion were run by RLC chefs. However, by December Bastion 2 was being run entirely by KBR and you could tell - the quality and standard of food fell dramatically.
