The courage and dedication of Cpl Carl Taylor (3 Mercian) has received national recognition at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards. A host of celebrities saw the soldier honoured for his act of bravery in Helmand province, where he dashed through enemy fire to save three children who had become separated from their mothers during a Taliban attack. The section commander was on patrol in the village of Pupalzay when his formation was targeted by the enemy.
