Personnel in Afghanistan are mourning the loss of a soldier who was fatally injured while preparing engineer plant equipment for redeployment out of Camp Bastion Spr Adam Moralee, 23, joined the Royal Engineers in 2008 and was posted to 26 Armoured Engineer Squadron the following year. He deployed on operations in March 2011, where he crewed a Trojan armoured vehicle clearing legacy minefields and defeating IEDs. Due to be promoted to lance corporal later this year, the Serviceman undertook his second tour last September as part of a close support troop within 39 Armoured Engineer Squadron.
