Troops lead the way on road to one Army

Aunit of light cavalry Reservists has taken an innovative approach to Army integration by setting up a new detachment in a camp belonging to Regular troops. Members of Swindon-based A Squadron, The Royal Yeomanry spotted the opportunity to build on historic ties with the Household Cavalry Regiment by establishing a troop at Combermere Barracks in Windsor. The soldiers hope the initiative will boost recruitment by extending the regiment's footprint east along the M4 corridor and targeting those leaving the HCR. "We started this pilot a year ago and it's working well," said permanent staff administration officer, Capt Chris Elliot (RY). "It's much better than being in an Army Reserve centre because the guys feel like they're part of the Regular force.
