1. Maximum settlements for existing buildings are noted when foundation pits are braced by anchors when m = 0.1-0.2; this corresponds to the location of the roots of the anchors, and is caused by an imperfection in the procedure used for their installation. 2. The proposed plots for settlement prediction can be used to predict the settlement of existing buildings in the predesign stage, and also in the stage when the attractiveness of investments is being evaluated. 3. The installation of a foundatin pit protected by an interstory ceiling is recommended for construction in the vicinity of historical monuments.
