1. Using the "Tilt" program, caissons may find broad application for foundations of high-rise residential and administrative construction [7], where the underground space is to be utilized.rn2. The shape and taper angle of the blade exerts a major influence on the limiting bearing capacity of the soil as compared with analysis of a continuous circular ring of constant width [1].rn3. The limiting pressure exerted by the blade on the soil beneath circular caissons is determined utilizing the solution of the plane problem of limiting equilibrium, where the width of the blade is determined as a function of its shape and its embedment into the soil with introduction of the correction factor ξ_0. 4. The factor for clayey and sandy soils when φ = 28 is close to unity, irrespective of the depth of penetration of the blade in the ground.
