摘要

An approach to analysis of piles for horizontal loading on the basis of a model of an elastic, linearly deformable medium is examined. A procedure obtained on the basis of elastic solutions is presented for determination of the proportionality factor describing the linear Increase in the coefficient of stiffness of the soil along the lateral surface of a pile. Recommendations, which are contained in standards regulating assignment of the proportionality factor, and which are proposed by the author are analyzed. Formulas are presented for back calculation of the proportionality factor based on data derived from field tests of piles under a horizontal load.
