Landmark results for PETCO

South Africa's PET Recycling Company (PETCO) is celebrating a landmark year in 2010. But while this is cause for some celebration, the company is using it as foundation to strengthen its recycling goals. Despite tough trading conditions in South Africa, PETCO - which is strongly supported by the soft drink industry — achieved an annual recycling rate of 38% of post-consumer beverage PET in fiscal 2010, and 27% of total PET Some 37,842 tonnes of PET were collected and cycled, out of a 142,000 tonne resin market.
