Political debate in Britain has been dominated recently by calls for "responsible capitalism". Party leaders David Cameron, Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg have been competing for the privilege of being associated in the public mind with encouraging or forcing companies to behave better. From the protestors in the OccupyLSX camp outside St Paul's Cathedral, shivering against the cold, to the bankers in the City of London looking out for their bonuses, squaring off business responsibility with profitability is a continuing interest.
