PHASES OF EDWIN JONES'S CONTRIBUTION TO CARIBBEAN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION DISCOURSE

摘要

This paper will identify major themes in Edwin Jones's work. It will capture the historical patterns to the topics studied, categorizing them in the early phase, the mid-career, and in the current paradigm, driven mainly by doctrines and discourses of the New Public Management (NPM). It also seeks to discuss the reasons Edwin Jones focused on certain topics. Additionally, the paper will then summarise major themes, highlighting some of Jones's major conclusions. Within this framework, an attempt will be made to assess the meaning and relevance of his work as contributions to theory, practice and the discipline of Public Sector Management in Caribbean societies.
