Despite overall moderate weather conditions across much of the United States, next-day power markets opened the fresh workweek in choppy fashion nMonday, May 16, with mixed demand outlooks, rising natural gas prices and a handful of nuclear outages and/or curtailments all influencing values to some nextent. Most spot markets were firm to higher in the East, Texas and the Pacific Northwest, with cash prices easing in the Midwest and Southwest.
