States file brief to back Murray Energy coal jobs case

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit granted 16 states a request to support Murray Energy Corp. in a legal pursuit to force the U.S. EPA to evaluate the effects of Clean Air Act regulations on coal jobs. Murray Energy originally brought the case against the Obama administration. A judge with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia ordered the agency to conduct a jobs impact analysis within weeks, though the EPA claimed that such a process would take years.
