Coal truck driver dies from injuries in West Virginia

The West Virginia Office of Miners’ Health, Safety and Training confirmed a coal truck driver died Feb. 10. The driver was injured when his loaded coal truck unexpectedly overturned while delivering coal to a dump site Feb. 3. The driver, Franklin Vannoy Jr., worked for Stacy Equipment & Repairs Inc. and was delivering coal to the Greenbrier Minerals LLC Elk Lick loadout at the time of the incident. Greenbrier Minerals is a metallurgical coal operation purchased by Coronado Coal LLC in 2016.
