Roofing expo aims for educational 'Endeavor'

Attendees of this year's International Roofing Expo will have the opportunity to not only network with roofing manufacturers, but to hear from a man who has been to the International Space Station four times. Astronaut and retired U.S. Navy Capt. Mark Kelly will give the Feb. 5 keynote address during the Feb. 5-7 expo at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio. The presentation, called "Endeavor to Succeed," will be held at 9:45 a.m. Kelly, who recently retired from NASA, is an experienced and award-winning aviator who flew combat missions during the Persian Gulf War. He was selected as an astronaut in 1996. He flew the first of his four missions in 2001 aboard space shuttle Endeavour, the same shuttle he commanded on its final flight in May 2011. He also led the mission team aboard the shuttle Discovery and is only one of two individuals who have visited the space station four times.
