摘要

Selibuya fault system, located in the Northwest of Tarim Basin, is the line of demarcation between two large tectonic units: Southwest Depression and Bachu Elevation. The internal structure and kinematics feature of the fault system are studied in this paper. The research shows that the fault system is composed of two NNW-trending right-lateral strike-slip compressive fault belts that spread obliquely and occurred in the basement, and a series of capping detachment thrusts located in the overlap area of basement faults.
