MAVEN Spacecraft Moves Toward Mars

NASA's Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) spacecraft launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, in November 2013 and is scheduled to arrive at Mars on September 22. Over the course of a year, it will study the planets upper atmosphere in an effort to understand how the planet's loss of atmospheric gas to space changed its climate.
