NextComputing, Nashua, New Hamsphire, has announced the release of the Packet Continuum Cluster, which is designed to offer faster, more capable cyber investigation tools. The Packet Continuum Cluster is an all-in-one packet capture appliance with a scalable architecture for any volume of data. The system is managed by the Packet Continuum compact, 3U, short-depth rackmount system, which offers high-speed capture with real-time analytics and visualization. Data is then distributed to a cluster of rack-mount nodes with considerable high-speed processing and storage. All of this is accomplished via NextComput-ing's capture and storage architecture, ideally suited for cyber forensics, cybersecurity and big data applications. Critical features include: lossless packet capture up to 40 gigabits per second; simultaneous indexing and search; file exfil-tration and infiltration hash logging; fast, scalable, distributed search/extract; real-time analytics for any volume; scalability to 12 nodes without a network switch, up to 100 with a switch; and 60 terabytes to 960 terabytes storage per node with storage compression and amplification.
