Col. Antonio Manuel Rosa Salvado joined the Portuguese Military Academy in 1977 and served in the Portuguese Army as a signal officer for more than 39 years. He is currently the director of information systems at the Ministry of Defense, where he leads the implementation of the Integrated Management System adopted by the entire defense staff. Col. Salvado has been an active member of the Portugal chapter and has served as vice president since 2014. Last February, he coordinated a seminar titled "The Soldier of the Future: The Integration in the Internet of Things (IoT)" at the National Defense Institute. The event allowed the armed and security forces, as well as industry and academia to come together and share knowledge.
