Creating Order Out of Chaos With Information Governance

The great advantage of the information age is that companies and federal agencies can accumulate and leverage massive amounts of information to improve their operations. One of the pitfalls of the age is understanding what all that information is, managing it and protecting it. Not knowing exactly what data you have can lead to more than just inefficiency—it can make organizations open to cyber attacks or breaches as ungoverned information is vulnerable to exfiltration. There is, however, a way to keep track of all the needles in the haystack and it's called information governance.
