Since taking over as president of the Palmetto Chapter in July, Lt. Col. Richard Sharpe, USAF, has been working hard to grow the chapter. In his previous position as vice president, he excelled in recruiting new members, gaining educational support from the Shaw Air Force Base community and increasing corporate chapter sponsors. He has cultivated a team of enthusiastic officers that are busy with projects to improve communication and interaction with the Shaw Air Force Base community. This year, Col. Sharpe helped organize the chapter's first virtual chapter luncheon with the commander of the 25th Attack Group. In addition, he coordinated with SPLUNK Corporation to conduct an online continuing education unit course called Boss of the Network Operation Center. There was great participation for both events, and they have created a road map for future online efforts.
