AFCEA Community Mourns Loss of Adm. Turtle

Longtime AFCEA advocate Vice Adm. Jerry O. Tuttle, USN (Ret.), died October 30 in Fairfax, Virginia, after a long illness. He was 83. Adm. Tuttle served on AFCEAs Executive Committee, Compensation Committee and Building Service Corporation Board of Directors. He received the General James M. Rockwell AFCEAN of the Year Award in 1989 and the Admiral Jon L. Boyes Medal for Distinguished Service to AFCEA in 1992. He and his-wife had an AFCEA-sponsored scholarship that ran from 2000-2010, the Vice Admiral Jerry O. Turtle, USN (Ret.) and Mrs. Barbara A. Tuttle Science and Technology Scholarship, for outstanding students in computer engineering, computer information systems or electronic engineering.
