Who Says rugged Can't be relaxing? Our lodge trips allow you to experience the natural world without the backpack. Embark on a variety of daily activities and return each evening to fresh meals, good company, and the comforts of home. Spring in Appalachia, North Carolina. April 8-14. Welcome, wildflower enthusiasts, history buffs, and lovers of slow-paced forest walks! On this trip, we will follow a cascading stream in the Great Smokies and view Tennessee and North Carolina from the Cherohala Skyway. We'll marvel at 500-year-old poplars in Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest and explore an abandoned logging town by boat. By night, we'll enjoy exceptional lodge cuisine and comfort in historic Fontana Village. Leader: Vivian Spielbichler.
