Along the Delaware River in northeastern Pennsylvania, Metropolitan Edison Company (Met-Ed) and Siemens Power Corporation are testing the first V84.3 combustion turbine. The 152 MW machine, which offers a simple-cycle efficiency of 36.1% and exceptionally low emission levels, is part of Met-Ed's strategic program for surviving - and thriving -in an increasingly deregulated market.
