At Home with Physics

Due to the influence of Joseph-Louis Lagrange and Gustav Magnus, Magnus House -a late Baroque palace - has been closely associated with the field of physics. In 1845, Magnus House, right in the cultural heart of Berlin, became the place in which the German Physical Society originated. Following German reunification, the building was extensively renovated, thanks to a donation from Siemens. Since 1994, the German Physical Society has once again been using Magnus House as scientific meeting center.
