Putting pensioners first

The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) runs one of the largest pension funds in the United States, paying out more than $1.5 billion in benefits to 129 000 employees and their beneficiaries each year. To help TRS handle the floods of inquiries it gets daily from members, the organisation set up a Telephone Information Center based on Siemens Rolm technology. Now the TRS can easily handle up to 70 000 calls a month.
