For many years, Albert Novelli has been a regular visitor to the Port of Barbados, photographing the many different types of ships there. However, increased security at the port now makes entry for casual photography virtually impossible, unless the correct paper work can be presented at the dock gate. For the ship enthusiast, the Port of Barbados offers an excellent opportunity to photograph a large range of cruise ships which frequently call at the port. Many other types of vessels are also regular callers to this idyllic Caribbean island and include an interesting selection of general inter-island vessels, small coasters, tankers, container ships and bulkers. For many years, my career with British Airways included frequent stopovers at Barbados so I often spent time between flights roaming the dockside photographing ships. Now retired, a holiday visit to the island showed how times have changed as it was virtually impossible to gain access to the docks.
