Spectacular voyage to the 'top of Europe'

In late September, a group of Ships Monthly readers boarded the 2002-built Hurtigruten vessel Finnmarken at Bergen and sailed north on a six-day/seven-night voyage along the rugged Norwegian coast to the fishing port of Kirkeness, just 16 kilometres from the Russian border deep inside the Arctic Circle. While the majority of the group departed the ship at her most northerly port of call to transfer to the airport for the journey home, the rest went southwards on Finnmarken back to Bergen and were able to experience daylight calls to the majority of the northbound overnight, late evening or early morning stops.
