First visitor to new terminal

The new cruise terminal at Liverpool's Pier Head welcomed its first caller when Seven Seas Voyager arrived in the Mersey on 9 September. She came in at about 0715 with pilot John Curry on the bridge and berthed unaided. Voyager, owned by Regent Seven Seas Cruises, was on a cruise from Copenhagen taking in various UK ports, with 700 passengers on board. The following day, Deutschland, owned by German cruise company Peter Deilmann, arrived at 0600 for a two-day visit on a European tour. The two visits were seen as paving the way for the arrival on 21 September of Queen Elizabeth 2 and ironing out any teething problems with the new 304m terminal.
