The small town of Oban in Argyll on the west coast of Scotland is a holiday resort and commercial centre with a current resident population of about ten thousand.The sheltered bay has north and south entrances and it is about one mile across to the island of Kerrera.The bay's north entrance has a buoyed approach with a minimum depth of 14m and the shallow section off-centre is clearly buoyed.
