New british company Channel Ferries has found charter work in the Med for the two former Swedish vessels bought last year and refitted on the Mersey. Built in 1980 as deep-sea ro-ro and container vessels, they were converted in 1990 for service between Malmoe and Travemuende as the 33,163gt Malmoe Link and Luebeck Link. Malmoe Link, now Ropax 1, has started a year-long charter with Cotunav while Ropax 2, the former Luebeck Link, has been taken on a shorter charter by Acciona Trasmediterranea.
