Two named in two days

Two new lifeboats were named in the space of two days at The Lifeboat College, RNLI Headquarters, Poole. On 18 August the new Atlantic 85 Martin Harvey was christened by Mrs Munford, and the following day the 16m Tamar Edward and Barbara Prigmore was named by Megan Seckington. Both lifeboats havernbeen built for the Relief Fleet. This Tamar is the tenth boat of the class to be built, and she will serve at Tamar stations. RNLI Corporate Services Director James Vaughan hosted the ceremony, and Staff Operations Officer Neil Chaplin, who was involved in the Tamar build and development, described the lifeboat.
