Overlooking Fowey harbour is Captain Mike Sutherland's office with a superb view of the comings and goings in the busy and picturesque Cornish port. Mike came to Fowey in 1983 as Deputy Harbour Master, and became Harbour Master in 1986 became, he explains, 'only the ninth Harbour Master since the Fowey Harbour Commissioners were formed in 1869.' As part of his remit, he looks after all the shipping in the port, from the biggest cruise ships to the smallest dinghies.
