Questions have been asked in Parliament why Wightlink has not been able to commission its two new vessels for the Lymington-Yarmouth service more than three months after they were delivered. MP Andrew Turner insists that the needs of low residents should be taken into account and has also asked harbour commissioners for any substantive reason why Wight Light and Wight Sky (below) should not be brought into service. Turner said: 'There is a perception by some in Lymington that the new ferries may cause difficulties for river users. However, it is time the harbour authorities gave proper reasons why they are holding up the introduction of the new ferries.'
