Europe's largest military exercise took place in the offshore and coastal waters to the northeast, north and north-west of Scotland from 4 to 15 October. The biannual Exercise Joint Warrior, held in spring and autumn each year, brings together Navy, Marine, Army and Air Force units from various allied and NATO countries. The exercise scenarios involved three sovereign nations, disputed territory and terrorist movements.
