Brittany happy with results

Despite a five per cent dip in passenger numbers to 2.57 million, and with freight down 17 per cent in line with general industry trends, Brittany Ferries believe they are holding their own but repeat there are no immediate plans for ordering new tonnage as conditions are not considered appropriate. The operator, with routes to France and Spain, achieved good summer volumes to beatrnan industry passenger decline of 8.4 per cent, and out-performed rivals. UK-Spain freight is also doing well and a second Poole-Santander weekly round trip was introduced by the Cotentin (2007/20,000gt) from 21 October.
