The SNAV years

The dutch-manned norstar was first to bow out of North Sea service and lay at Zeebrugge from early August 2001 until a December purchase by SNAV Aliscafi and a move to Vlissingen's Scheldepoort Yard for an extensive refit. Emerging at the beginning of January 2002 as SNAV Campania, she was registered in the name of Continental Ferries, Hull. A first sailing from Naples to the Sicilian capital, Palermo, took place on 25 March 2002, and she was joined on 25 May by the former Norland, which made a final Hull-Vlissingen round trip at the end of February 2002 and after sale to Strup International of Hull, also went to the Schelde Yard, departing for Genoa as SNAV sicilia.
