Shaw, Savill and Albion Line was once the premier shipping line operating between Britain, Australia and New Zealand and was a pioneer in the transportation of frozen meat from New Zealand. The Line worked closely with White Star and over the years owned many outstanding ships from freighters to passenger liners. This book is the first comprehensive fleet history of this famous company, and while the detailed fleet lists include the ships managed and chartered by the company, not all the ships are illustrated in the lists, with some shown in the main narrative, which makes it difficult to follow the evolution of ship types.
