Grace takes to water

On 10 August what is claimed to be, with strong support, the world's most advanced and environmentally friendly passenger ship, Viking Grace, was floated out at STX Finland's Turku yard. Both management of the yard and customer, Viking Line, expressed their pleasure at the newbuilding's progress so far and confirmed the handover date of 10 January will be met. After a shakedown cruise for the crew, she will enter service on the Turku-Stockholm route, which is twice daily with just an hour in each port, with a short call in her home port of Mariehamn sandwiched in between.
