The man who shaped AP Moller Maersk into one of the world's most important shipping companies, Maersk McKinney-M0ller, has died at the age of 98. McKinney-M0ller passed away in his sleep on 16 April at Denmark's main hospital in Copenhagen. The death of Mr M0ller severs the last connection between AP Moller's day-to-day management and the McKinney-M0ller family that founded the group in 1904. Mr Moller had served as the group's chief executive from 1965 until 1993 when, aged 80, he served as chairman, staying for ten years up until his retirement in 2003.
